A: Applicants for the ETA position must have a minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience at any grade level and in any subject (it does not have to be English). Experience as a teaching assistant (TA) or a core teacher qualifies as classroom teaching. This experience can be gained through part-time, full-time, or volunteer roles, and it does not need to be continuous, but it must total two years. Please note that tutoring, as well as teaching in settings like working in preschools, dance instruction, supervising youth, or similar activities, does not count as classroom teaching experience.
