Hosted by HisExcellency Dr. Zeidan A. Kafafi – President of Yarmouk University (YU), Fulbright Jordan’s Executive Director Mr. AlainMcNamara participated in the launching of Yarmouk University’s 1st International Week 2019.

Mr.McNamara was hosted by the University to speak about international education, and take part in the first of four workshops that were conducted on the first day, that addressed scholarships and opportunities available in educational exchange for students and faculty members, this session was moderated by the Director of International Relations from the Hussein Bin Talal University – Dr. Basam Abu Karaki, with the participation of Mr. McNamara along with DAAD Director, Ms. Gabriele von Fircks and theAssistant Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Jordan, Mr. John Hishmeh.

In his remarks McNamara addressed the mutual benefits of educational exchange and the scholarship opportunities offered to Jordanians and Americans through theBinational Fulbright Commission in Jordan, and the significance it plays in our world today.

The events on the first day were attended by more than 115 participants, 50 of whom representing 23 countries outside of Jordan.
